Move Bay Area - West Bay Summit
October 3, 2025
Redwood City
Transportation Leader Senator Scott Wiener is our keynote speaker!
Senator Wiener has been a long-time and effective leader for better and more accessible public transportation since his time on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. He co-authored SB 1, the largest transportation funding measure in California history, generating over $5 billion annually for road and highway repairs and new investments in public transportation. As part of SB 1, Senator Wiener successfully advocated to triple the funds dedicated specifically to public transportation and bike/pedestrian infrastructure. Senator Wiener also authored or co-authored legislation to ensure safer streets for cyclists, pedestrians, and transit users and to allow congestion pricing pilot programs and automated speed enforcement.
He is currently co-authoring SB63 with Senator Jesse Arreguin, which will authorize legislation that enables an historic regional transportation funding measure to be put on the ballot in 2026.
A transit rider who seeks cleaner, reliable, and affordable options
An advocate who cares deeply about climate, health, and transportation and wants to understand the connections that can be made
A government agency that can make a difference in policy
A student who understands the future is theirs and wants to be a part of shaping it
Those who cannot move around freely without public transportation –members of the disability community, seniors, students who can’t drive, and people who can’t afford or don’t want a car
Those who don’t ride public transit yet, but are interested in building the vision
Emissions from transportation are the largest single category of carbon pollution. In this four-part series, to be held in the North, East, West and South Bay, we will explore the connections between climate, health and transportation, and how we all benefit from cleaner air and abundant, accessible, affordable and safe public transportation
